Daelim Museum presents Paper, Present, an exhibition highlighting the moments of paper transforming into a sensual medium through the delicate sensibilities of international artists. Running from December 7, 2017 to May 27, 2018, the exhibition features the works of ten individual and team artists from various fields that reveal the intrinsic qualities and pure beauty of paper.

The exhibition consists of seven sections. In the first section, Richard Sweeney, the so-called Gaudí of paper art, offers a paper sculpture collection of varying scales reminiscent of stars twinkling in the sky at dawn. Without the use of machines, Sweeney freely creates forms ranging from small objects to architectural structures, emphasizing the materiality of paper. In the second section, Tahiti Pehrson, a master of creating elaborate hand-cut patterns in pure white paper, conjures the bright, scattered sunlight through his delicate works. In the third section, the works of atelier oï, the design studio that uses various elements including light, color and movement to evoke feelings of both the East and the West, arouse the sensation of gentle gusts of wind that awaken frozen time. Through the works of Studio Job, TORAFU ARCHITECTS, Tord Boontje and Jule Waibel, the fourth section unfolds extraordinary scenes where paper steps into everyday life. The designers of this section combine paper with practicality to create a wide range of product and furniture designs. The fifth section consists of the works by Zim&Zou, the French design duo who have produced compelling works for the show window displays of luxury brands such as Hermès.

Following up in the sequence, the sixth section features an installation work by Wanda Barcelona, the studio that has designed the show windows and showrooms of internationally renowned brands including Dior, Comme des Garçons and Colette. Wanda Barcelona’s elaborate and enormous paper garden transforms the museum into a fairytale world, transcending time and space. In the last section, Korea's Maum Studio, renowned for its youthful designs, invites the viewers to a multisensory experience of walking through a field of pink paper reeds.
